About Me

Hiii, welcome to my blog ! My name is Ava-Rae and I am an earth loving, adventure seeking, health lover from Boulder, Colorado. I began my first instagram, blogging about health and wellness at the young age of 12. Known for its high altitude, beautiful scenery, and fairly nice climate, Boulder is one of the most athletic and health conscious cities in the world. Exposure to this lifestyle at such a young age inspired me to pursue an education in the field. I recently graduated from Tulane University with a focus on Health and Wellness, Environmental Studies and Biomedical engineering. Through both academia and lived experiences, I have realized the importance of holistic wellness. Throughout university I struggled to find balance and keep my mind in a happy state. I began delving into a journey of healing– one that will continue throughout my lifetime. Through this journey it has become evident that our external beings are simply a shell of the mechanisms inside of us. Our shells reflect our internal states and we may only come to a place of security through making our insides feel beautiful.

I created this blog to share what I have thus far learned on my journey, to raise awareness about topics that I feel passionate about, and also to learn from others. I am young and have so much knowledge to still gain. I want to be challenged and questioned, I want to expand my mind, and I want to hear from and learn about as many different people and cultures as possible. This platform should be a communal place in which we can all engage, interact, and learn from each other for the world is a complex place and maybe we can all teach and learn from each other how to navigate it just slightly better. In my opinion this begins with the self so that is where I will start. Here I will post recipes, blogs, projects I am working on adventures that I seek out and honestly anything that feels of importance.

UPDATE: I am currently serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay. Follow my journey here, where I will post weekly or bi-weekly about my experience !!
